We hope everyone out there who was a fan of Basement got the chance to see them live. If you didn’t, you’re a bit late now, as they played their last ever show this weekend here in London. Still, if you are one of that most unlucky number who didn’t get to see the band in the final run of farewell gigs, don’t fret too hard – some kind soul has only gone and videoed almost the entire show from the band’s penultimate show at The Well in Leeds from 16 November 2012.
The video was shot by photographer Ashley Rommelrath, and you can check out more of his work here – he’s shot full-set videos of absolutely heaps of bands, so there’s plenty to get stuck in to. Anyway, here’s that all-important video of Basement’s second last ever show at The Well:
Basement’s final album, Colourmeinkindness, is out now – our reviewer, Alex Andrews, gave it a not-unimpressive 4.5 out of 6, and described it as providing “the listener with a warmth that will last well beyond the coming winter. This is a sound of a band that had already nailed a fresh take on a prevailing and very modern sound, only to revisit the songs and sounds that had presumably inspired them to play music in the first place.” Yeah, you should probably check it out ASAP.
