Damnation Festival has announced Carcass as its main stage headliner for this year. Yep.
The band who made some of death metal and grindcore’s classic albums have their first record in seventeen years (and you thought Chinese Democracy took a while…) coming out this year, and this will be their only UK appearance in 2013 to mark it. We’re not entirely sure who’s actually playing in the band yet (Michael Amott and Daniel Erlandsson aren’t involved like the last time Carcass played in the UK, as they’re off doing Arch Enemy, but Trigger The Bloodshed’s Daniel Wilding has played on the album) but it’s Carcass, so it’ll be ace. And there’s another 22 bands still to be announced.
As ever, the festival takes place in Leeds University Union on Saturday 02 November, and tickets are frozen at last year’s bargain £32 (plus the usual fees) for a limited time. Full details are over on the official Damnation Festival website. And if you want to know why it’s so great, we had a blast there last year. Convinced yet?
