Of all the indoor multi-day festivals that take place in the UK, there’s one right here in London that has always stood head and shoulders above all the others as far as we’re concerned – DesertFest. Returning to a brace of venues across Camden over a weekend this coming April, DesertFest is three days of the best sludge, stoner and doom carnage the UK will see in 2013. That’s why we’ve dedicated this week’s Slaylist to this year’s line-up.
This year the festival is bigger than ever, with bigger venues, bigger bands, and bigger riffs. This year it’s the Electric Ballroom, the Jazz Cafe, the Underworld and The Black Heart that will be showcasing the likes of Unida, Pentagram, Black Moth, Turbowolf, Conan, and loa of other bands we’ve raved about over the years. There’s still a handful of smaller acts to be added to the bill, but seeing as the main players are all in place now, we’ve gone ahead and made a Slaylist of the best and brightest that are playing this year’s festival.
Spotify is available to most of Europe, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and a load of other countries for free – though obviously you’re better off shelling out either £5 or £10 a month for one of Spotify’s premium packages, as then you can listen to our Slaylists without having them interrupted by adverts. For our readers in countries not currently serviced by Spotify….come to London for DesertFest and we’ll help you get over this disappointment by buying you a beer. You can’t say fairer than that.
