SikTh? American Nightmare? Songkick Detour can bring them to London

detour london vs thrash hits 2013

We saw the power of Songkick Detour back in February when, in conjunction with our big sister, DrownedinSound, Desaparecidos played their first UK show. It was impressive and it was powered by the crowd. They wanted to see Desaparecidos play live in London and they put their money where their mouths were. We want to do the same thing with some bands that we like.

Let’s see if we can get American Nightmare over to the UK. Let’s see if we can show SikTh that people want to see them live.

If you’re not familiar with how Songkick Detour works, however, this is how.

1) Sign up to Detour, find your band(s) and pledge to buy a ticket. It’s like a pre-order, but you only pay once the gig is confirmed. It’s a show of faith that you really want to see this band play live in London

2) Once a certain threshold is reached (50 pledges, say), Detour works with a promoter (The Underworld in Camden, for instance) to agree a gig with the band. They have the leverage that there are already 50 people willing to pay to see the band live.

3) Once the gig is confirmed, the ticket price is set and no matter how high a pledge you made, you won’t be charged more than the ticket price.

4) You’ll only be charged if the gig is 100% confirmed. If you can’t go on the date that has been set, you’ll be refunded. You’re in control from the beginning to the end.

So pop over to Thrash Hits on Songkick Detour and take a look at the bands we want over here. As well as American Nightmare over and SikTh, Blood Brothers, All Pigs Must Die, Muck, Old Man Gloom, Primitive Weapons, Super Snake and Botch are listed. We want to see them all so go and pledge on as many of them as you see fit.

Let’s make this happen.
