Sunday Slaylist: Hevy Festival 2013 – what might’ve been…

Hevy 2013 cancelled Thrash Hits

This weekend would’ve been the fifth Hevy Festival…but as you no doubt know by now, the festival was forced to cancel their event this year. They tried to schedule a replacement all-dayer at the Brixton Academy here in London, featuring some of the biggest bands on this year’s (cancelled) bill…but as you also know by now, they had to cancel that too.

It’s not been the best year for Hevy Festival, truth be told.

Regardless, we want to look on the bright side of all this. We want Hevy to come back next year. We don’t want this year’s crisis to spill over and effect ticket sales in future. We want to be able to go watch a load of bands in a field in Kent this time next year. And that’s why we’ve gone and made a Sunday Spotify Slaylist of what might’ve been this year. To help keep our faith than Hevy 2014 will make it all better.

Spotify is available to most of Europe, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and a load of other countries for free – though obviously you’re better off shelling out either £5 or £10 a month for one of Spotify’s premium packages, as then you can listen to our Slaylists without having them interrupted by adverts. For our readers in countries not currently serviced by Spotify….well, if you bought tickets for Hevy and got a refund then you and go buy some records by one of the bands on the aborted line-up. That’ll make you feel better, won’t it?
