We went on the BBC Radio 1 Review Show for a record seventh time this week. We reckon it’s because we’re a) one of the few blogs on Radio 1’s books who doesn’t deal in boring indie, and b) one of the few blogs willing to really put the boot in to bad music when we hear it on the show.
To that end, come and listen to our Deputy Editor Hugh Platt take on Paris Hilton on this week’s show.
It’s not just the music of hedonistic heiresses on this week’s show – Hugh brought in ‘Slumber With The Worm’, an unreleased track from Black Moth’s also-not-yet-released second album, Condemned To Hope, and the show’s other guest, up-and-coming hiphop sensation Vic Mensa, had a nice track in the shape of ‘Devour’ by Little Simz. As for the rest of the show’s line-up…well…let’s just say the tracks are all worth listening to, if only to hear Hugh and Vic’s judgments on them afterwards…
Black Moth’s second album, Condemned To Hope, is out on New Heavy Sounds on 15 September 2014. We’ve heard it already and it’s bloody brilliant. You can already pre-order it from iTunes, and if you do then you can download the latest single from it, ‘Room 13’, right now – so go get your pre-orders on, people.
