We’ve always been pretty big fans of the mad noise that Årabrot have made their stock-in-trade, so when the news hit earlier this year that the band’s lynchpin Kjetil Nernes had been diagnosed with throat cancer, we were plenty concerned. Thankfully Nernes seems to have gotten the disease under control, as he’s leading his band to perform in a stacked bill at one of our favourite London micro venues later this week.
The gig is taking place at that South London bastion of experimental music, the mighty Brixton Windmill. Also shoring up the bill on Friday night are Rabbits, Meadows, Moe and Ghold, which if you take a moment to go check out those links you will be aware that this is going to be an evening of incredibly loud noise indeed.
Tickets are on sale now for the meagre price of just £6 in advance – you could just turn up on the night and hand over £8, but who wants to be the kind of hedge-better who walks all the way up Brixton Hill without guaranteed entry? Don’t be that guy.
