Sylosis are one of the bands you don’t pay enough attention to. Shut up, you don’t, and you know it. If You Buy One Thing This Week is your chance to fix that – the band have just released Dormant Heart, which we reckon is their best album to date. It’s shorter than any of their other full-length releases, the band having boiled down their craft to the point that there’s not a shred of filler-flab in the 59 minutes that this record spends clattering you in your aural erogenous zones.
It also helps matters that our deputy editor thinks that ‘Victims and Pawns’ off the album is the best song Sylosis have ever written. We suggest you pick up a copy and then you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about. If you don’t believe us, go listen to the full album stream that Nuclear Blast are currently offering. Or you can wait until later this week, when we publish our new interview with Sylosis mainman Josh Middleton, where we dissect the new album in depth.
