Alter Bridge is an American alternative metal band that was formed in 2004 in Orlando, Florida. It consists of lead guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips (drummer), all of whom are also members of Creed, alongside lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Myles Kennedy, formerly of The Mayfield Four and the frontman of Slash's current solo project. Tremonti named the group after an actual bridge that used to be located in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, near his former home on Alter Road. Read more on Last.fm

It can’t have been easy for Alter Bridge when Myles Kennedy hooked up with Slash for a world tour, especially with the threat of Velvet Revolver still looking for a singer. But Myles stayed true to his main band who are now playing much bigger venues that VR ever did. We thought we’d head down to Wembley Arena and see if Alter Bridge could pull it off.

How much less fashionable can a band be? It doesn’t matter that you kicked the idiot out, changed the name and brought in a singer who sang Guns N’ Roses songs this summer about 100 times better than Axl Rose did. Six years later, the stigma remains. Despite having two solid albums under their belts, Alter Bridge are still referred to as, “Oh, is that Creed?” Releasing one of the best guitar rock albums of the year would be a good way to change that forever, wouldn’t it. Here is III.
