Asian Dub Foundation are to release their sixth album, Punkara on 6 October 2008 through Naïve Records.

The London fusion specialists have always mixed rock and dub and hip hop but Punkara sees them mixing punk and bhangra. They’ve fusion mixed the words together as well as the music.

The perfect example of this mix is found on ‘No Fun’ which features the original garage punk, Iggy Pop. He reckons ADF are the best band he’s seen in 30 years. Ok.

When the band was recording ‘No Fun’ Steve ‘Chandrasonic’ Savale told their Punjabi vocalist, Sups to, “imagine if you were your Dad drunk on whiskey.” We always do.
