Despite the plethora of ways you can hear about new music, there’s something about getting a positive recommendation from a friend that makes us want to check out a band. Baby In Vain came to us that way, and the Danish trio’s grunge-meets-postpunk definitely ticked some of our favourite boxes. Lola Hammerich, Benedicte Pierleoni and Andrea Thuesen put their collective head together to tackle our Future Hits interrogation.

Baby in Vain is a Danish trio formed in 2010 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

"Being but 16-19 years of age, the three girls have impressively fast found their own place in a genre most often dominated by middleaged men.
They play an updated 2012 version of 90′ies stoner rock and grunge, with heavy guitar riffs and screeching vocals, and draw inspiration from bands such as Kyuss and Mudhoney.

Record Store Day is once again looming – this weekend, music collector nerds of all shapes and sizes will descend upon their local record shops to buy over-priced and often not-very-good limited edition releases to mark the occasion.
