Black Lungs is a side project of Alexisonfire guitarist, Wade MacNeil. Wade is the lead singer of this band, reminiscent of his first punk rock band Plan 9. The band has at some point included George Pettit of Alexisonfire on bass, and Jordan "Ratbeard" Hastings and Sean McNabb, formerly of Jersey and now in The Creepshow. Earlier, the band consisted of Wade and Sammi Bogdanski on piano.

Well, the cat’s out of the bag – AltPress (and Gallows’ official Twitter account) have confirmed the rumour that seemingly everyone knew, but no-one was allowed to say this afternoon: Wade MacNeil is Frank Carter’s replacement as the frontman of Gallows.

Of course, those of you with the beadiest eyes and biggest noses will have spotted a few tell-tale signs of this announcement in the past few weeks. A few of which we’ve assembled after the jump.

It’s time for The Great Escape 2011 so we’re off to Brighton for a few days to drink beer and get a dry face and fuzzy ears from watching bands while standing near to a large, salty body of water.

Because TGE is a big thing, there’s not very much metal going on so we thought we’d point out the token gigs of heaviness for you and list all the bands that we think are noteworthy PLUS when and where they’re playing.

There is nothing here that resembles a Turisas song.
