Bury Your Dead (sometimes abbreviated to BYD) is a five-piece metalcore band that hails from Worcester, Massachusetts, United States.

Formed in 2001, Bury Your Dead began as a side project of the band Hamartia featuring Brendan "Slim" MacDonald (guitar) and Mark Castillo (Drums). With the metalcore sound of Hamartia growing tiresome to both Slim and Mark, they started writing less technical songs in their free time. They recruited Steve Kent to play bass Read more on Last.fm

We’re not at Ghostfest 2013. It started yesterday. It’s happening even more today. We were going to go and write a massive sarcastic article about the m0shbros and m0shwags and all that, but then then car we were going to hustle up there failed its MOT and the floor we were going to crash on got flooded by a broken washing machine, and we’re too cheap to buy a train ticket and book a hotel room.

It’s not going to stop us enjoying the line-up this weekend though, even if it’s just through our Sunday Spotify Slaylist.

2008 into 2009: Bury Your Dead

Aaron “Bubble” Patrick is the bassist from Bury Your Dead. Earlier this year, he drove his band into a ditch. That’s not a metaphor or anything. He simply drove his band into a ditch. If you’re laughing, you’re a bad person.

What was your highlight of 2008?
Definitely the amazing tours we’ve been a part of. 5 Finger Death Punch, In This Moment, Machine Head, Hell Yeah, Parkway Drive just to name a few. Touring and becoming friends with these bands is priceless.

What was the lowlight of 2008?
Ha ha! That’s easy. We flipped our old van four times driving into Canada and we were all hospitalised. I was driving so for me it was the one of the worst things I’ve ever been through. As soon as we stopped I thought I had killed my best friends and bandmates. So note to self: vans make horrible roller coasters.
