De La Soul is a massively influential hip hop group, hailing from Amityville, New York, United States. They are best known for their eclectic sampling and quirky, surreal lyrics, and their contributions to the evolution of the jazz hop subgenre. They are the best known of the early alternative hip-hop acts. The members are Kelvin Mercer (Posdnuos, Mercenary, Plug Wonder Why, Plug One), David Jude Jolicœur (Trugoy the Dove, Dave, Plug Two) and Vincent Mason (Pasemaster Mase, Maseo, Plug Three). Judgment Night Slaylist Thrash Hits

As it’s nearly Hallowe’en, we were going to rant about the soundtrack for Spawn: The Movie for this week’s Sunday Spotify Slaylist. It’s a rubbish movie adaptation of a painfully 90s-naff comic. It’s about Satan and is stuffed to the tits with bad horror imagery. And it’s got a soundtrack of collaborations featuring artists from across the spectrum of heavy metal and artists you’d never expect them to get together with. It’s infinitely more interesting and entertaining than the movie it accompanies.

And it’s not on Spotify. So we’re going to talk about another movie soundtrack where rock artists collaborated with other musicians to create…interesting results. We’re going to look at the music of Judgment Night instead.
