There are at least four bands named Departures.

1) Departures were a melodic hardcore band from Glasgow, United Kingdom. Forming in 2007, they started to create a buzz and energy within the british hardcore scene with their debut full length, When Losing Everything Is Everything You Wanted, promoting a brand of passionate modern hardcore, with strong melodic guitar riffs and emotional lyrics and subject matter.

In October 2012, Departures signed to No Sleep Records for the release of their second full length, Teenage Haze. Read more on Last.fm

You can’t blame for Departures for their sincerity; hardcore has always taken itself far too seriously and the Glaswegians’ particular brand has been inherited from a time when the genre was becoming increasingly self-aware and beginning to develop poetic pretensions. While this kind of music can feel desperate, primal and life-affirming, Departures fall into the trap of sounding meticulously-studied and a little too slick.
