Bloody hell, there’s an awful lot of nonsense on the Reading and Leeds 2014 festival line-up, isn’t there? I mean, we know this isn’t a bona fide heavy music festival like Download and Sonisphere, but sweet flippin’ Jesus is there some pony stinking up the bill this year. That’s because it’s enormous – literally 100s of bands – but, as such, there are also a whole load of bloody excellent bands and this week’s Sunday Spotify Slaylist cuts through all that and brings you the very best of the heavy stuff that you can find if you sniff around the schedule a little bit.
Don Broco are a four piece rock band from Bedfordshire, UK who formed in 2008, consisting of lead singer Rob Damiani, guitarist Simon Delaney, bassist Tom Doyle and drummer Matt Donnelly. Don Broco released their debut mini-album, 'Big Fat Smile' on 14th February 2011. Read more on Last.fm

With the August Bank Holiday weekend rapidly approaching, Reading & Leeds Festivals are once again upon us. As with every year, Reading & Leeds have a bit fat dollop of heaviness in among the landfill indie, so for this week’s Sunday Slaylist we’ve put together a Spotify playlist of the hardest and heaviest from their 2013 line-ups.

In addition to those sweet as you like on-stage photos of Cancer Bats’ Main Stage triumph we showed you last weekend, our man Gobinder Jhitta took a shedload of photos at this year’s Leeds Festival. We basically gave him free rein to go shoot whatever and whoever he wanted, and he didn’t let us down – pretty much every band we ranted and/or raved about in our post-Reading & Leeds Festival podcast is featured in his gallery, which you can check out after the jump.

It’s that time of year again – it’s the return of the Thrash Hits Download Festival splash page for 2012! All of our Download coverage from across the entire weekend will be linked to on this here post, so make sure you bookmark it as it’s all you’re going to need. That means individual band coverage in the form of photos and setlists, as well as reviews of each day’s highlights, every scandalous rumour and dirty bit of gossip that we overhear, and every outrageous photo of muddy debauchery that our photographers can get their lenses on.

There’s a member of Don Broco called Tom Doyle. He’s not the same Tom Doyle that writes for Thrash Hits, but we like bringing it up and causing trouble on Twitter by getting people to message Tom about it. Oh, the japes.
