Huntress is an American heavy metal band. It was founded in the underground of Highland Park, California when lead vocalist Jill Janus moved to Los Angeles where she met an underground metal band called 'Professor' in 2009. Huntress was signed by Napalm Records in November 2011. A debut EP Off with Her Head was released in 2010. On December 27, 2011, they released their first single, "Eight of Swords", to promote their debut album, Spell Eater.

It’d be fair to say that 2013 is probably a year that Randy Blythe from Lamb of God would like to forget, having spent much of it dealing with his trial and subsequent acquittal for manslaughter of Czech fan of his band, Daniel Nosek. They’ve certainly not wasted any time getting their 2014 off to a running start, hitting Europe for a 14-date extension to their long-running Resolution tour. We sent Gobinder Jhitta down to Birmingham to catch Randy and co.

By pretty much any metric we care to think about, 2013 was a great year for Thrash Hits. If we look over the raw numbers, it was our most successful year ever, with more people reading the site, more people coming back to the site, and more people sticking around and actually reading our stuff than ever before. Seeing how every other website these days seems to be degenerating to nothing more than clickbait listicles with “You won’t believe…”-style headlines, we think that last point is of particular importance.
Before we really get our teeth into 2014, we thought we’d make our holiday slacking last another couple of days by looking back at the content from the last twelve months that helped make it our best ever year. First up: our top 6 opinion pieces.
