Tracy Marrow (born February 16, 1958 in Newark, New Jersey), better known as Ice-T, is an American rapper, singer, and actor. He is one of the pioneers of gangsta rap and was also instrumental in creating rapcore.

Ice-T started in 1982 out with other West Coast rap pioneers such as Kid Frost, DJ Flash, and The Egyptian Lover with Electro recordings. Later on, he changed his style and was the first West Coast rapper to be accepted by the East Coast. Read more on Last.fm

Judgment Night Slaylist Thrash Hits

As it’s nearly Hallowe’en, we were going to rant about the soundtrack for Spawn: The Movie for this week’s Sunday Spotify Slaylist. It’s a rubbish movie adaptation of a painfully 90s-naff comic. It’s about Satan and is stuffed to the tits with bad horror imagery. And it’s got a soundtrack of collaborations featuring artists from across the spectrum of heavy metal and artists you’d never expect them to get together with. It’s infinitely more interesting and entertaining than the movie it accompanies.

And it’s not on Spotify. So we’re going to talk about another movie soundtrack where rock artists collaborated with other musicians to create…interesting results. We’re going to look at the music of Judgment Night instead.
