iwrestledabearonce are a band from Shreveport, Louisiana that utilizes a variety of genres and musical influences. The band incorporate various styles of music and shuffle through them rapidly but they do maintain an overall melodic metalcore sound with electronica influence. Since their formation in 2007, they've released one self-titled EP within the same year via Tragic Hero Records and two full-length albums, It's All Happening and Ruining It for Everybody, in 2009 and 2011 respectively, via Century Media. Heterogeneous quintet jokers, iwrestledabearonce, have finally decided to ripen in their third, slightly more structured than usual studio album Late for Nothing. It’s still an indecisive stew of styles and incontrollable outbursts; it’s just more organized than usual. Their could-care-less attitude persists but, musically they’ve taken themselves a bit more serious and upped their game.

Live: THE MOSH LIVES! @ London Highbury Garage – 06 May 2011

This tour was called THE MOSH LIVES!. We were confused as to whether that it meant that a mosh was alive, in which case nobody sent us a press release about it dying or whether it was the name of a new reality TV show following a few moshers around. We would probably watch that because we too are utter morons.

Fusing grinding screams with powerful singing – plus the odd jazz interlude thrown in for good measure – iwrestledabearonce are alongside the likes of HORSE The Band in terms of musical style and feel.
