Jarboe (full name: Jarboe La Salle Devereaux – also known as The Living Jarboe) is an American singer, songwriter, and keyboardist from New Orleans active since 1984. She came to prominence in the mid-1980s as a member of New York City based group Swans. With founder Michael Gira, the duo was the core of the group until its disbandment in 1998.

She continues to release numerous solo albums and collaborations and has composed the soundtrack for a horror game entitled The Path. Read more on Last.fm

Supersonic Festival 2012 Thrash Hits

Last week we dropped a Damnation Festival-themed Slaylist, and this week we’re focussing on another indoor Autumn festival – Supersonic. While not specifically a metal festival (or even necessarily a “heavy” festival), Supersonic pushes the boundaries of what you can do with a music festival in ways that traditional metal fests can’t even dream of. Because traditional metal fests are too busy working themselves into a froth over who their headliners are.
