You know the drill by now. This is the Thrash Hits Festival Splash Page and this is where you’ll find some of the most comprehensive photo galleries of Bloodstock Open Air 2014 that you don’t have to pay for. It’s here!
Lacuna Coil is an Italian metal band from Milan. Since their formation in 1994, the group has had two name changes, being previously known as Sleep of Right and Ethereal. Inspired by the combination of gothic imagery and music, the members have been known, musically, for composing mid-tempo songs consisting of prominent guitar lines and contrasting dual female/male vocal harmonies to help create a melodic, detached sound. Much of the band's recent material Read more on Last.fm

Lacuna Coil are one of the few bands who can walk the line between Bloodstock Open Air 2014 and more mainstream metal festivals like Download and Sonisphere. We’re not saying that’s entirely down to Cristina Scabbia, but…well, it’s entirely down to Cristina Scabbia.

The Sheffield old hands are 25 years old and to celebrate, they played a big old gig at the Roundhouse with Lacuna Coil and Katatonia. Not bad, eh? David Keevill popped up to Camden to see the whole shebang unfold.

Dark Adrenaline. It just doesn’t sound right, does it? It sounds a bit like a knock-off deodorant that looks a bit like Lynx, that you might find in Poundland.
Not a good start then.

All of our Sonisphere Festival 2010 coverage from the weekend will be linked to on this here post, so make sure you bookmark it as it’s all you’re going to need need. You’re only here to check out Cristina Scabbia’s camel toe. Admit it.

Sonisphere Festival has just announced another 12 bands for Knebworth – and we’ve got to admit, we’re just a little underwhelmed. First off, Pendulum are the “Special Guests” (i.e., they’re headlining the smaller of the two stages) on Friday 30 July. Which is Iron Maiden day. Hmmmmm.
Live + Photos: Bullet For My Valentine, Lacuna Coil, Bleeding Through & Black Tide @ London Alexandra Palace – 15 November 2008

Bullet For My Valentine are playing in front of about 9,000 people. Slayer did the same thing last month but with a much stronger supporting line-up and over two nights. Some might say there is no justice.
The fact of the matter is that Bullet For My Valentine are a Top 5 charting band in the two most important countries and they sell records to the people that matter – people that actually give a shit.
Bullet sell records to the people that will also show their love for a band by actually turning up to see them play the songs on that record.
Yes, large portions of those people are very young girls, ably escorted by similarly young boys but don’t let that fool you.
Their brand of modern metalcore is absolutely not as true to traditional metal as many demand. That’s what makes is modern rather than traditional. The years don’t start with the number 19 any more, FYI.
This is a band that is going to be around for a while yet. This is no flash-in-the-pan pop band. They write real songs for real people.
Take the chap to my left in his mid-40s, for example. To him, this is as real as any metal band. His hangover, tomorrow morning, is testament to that.
