The mighty Pink Mist collective are going to be selling their wares in real life at Boxpark, east London from 12pm Monday, 06 May 2013. Made up of excellent indie labels Holy Roar, Tangled Talk, Big Scary Monsters and Blood And Biscuits plus a live promoter, they’re gonna be selling records and having sweet instore sessions. Monday is May Day bank holiday, so you have no excuse if you’re even vaguely nearby.

Whilst there has been much written about the Mayan prediction of the destruction of the world this year, there has be relatively little discussion about what the soundtrack to that impending apocalypse will be. Well, I humbly submit that with their second full-length, Painted, Narrows have produced a record that would amply accompany any armageddon that our central-American predecessors may have called on. That’s not because it is the heaviest album you will this year, nor is it the nastiest or even the most gruellingly dissonant (though it does score highly in all these categories) – but rather because of its remorseless, unrelenting, soul emptying bleakness which refuses to abate throughout the eight tracks on offer here.
Narrows release ‘Absolute Betrayer’, the first taste of new music from their forthcoming second full-length, Painted
December 22nd, 2011
Those transatlantic metal innovators, Narrows, have gone and slipped out a preview for their forthcoming second full-length album, while we were busy throwing up Christmas decorations and generally being merry. ‘Absolute Betrayer’ showcases practically everything we love about this band, whipped into three-minute package of technicolour goodness – and you can check it out after the jump.
Photos & Live: Narrows + Hang The Bastard + Kerouac @ London Old Blue Last – 20 May 2011
May 26th, 2011
When Narrows announced they would be playing a select run of UK shows as part of their 2011 European tour, Thrash Hits collectively started whooping in delight and anticipation. As one of the best bands you’ve never bothered to see live, we sure as shit weren’t about to miss them when they rolled into town to give East London a Friday night ass-kicking. Hugh Platt was on hand to document it in words; Shaziya Niamh was there to handle the pictures.

Watch Narrows perform ‘Gypsy Kids’ as you’ve never seen it before
May 19th, 2011
It’s something of a mystery to us why we’ve not written more about how megaton-level awesome Narrows are – especially given how their line-up boasts ex- and current members of bands such as Botch, These Arms Are Snakes, and Tropics (among others). When we saw them play the Camden Underworld just over a year ago, they were so loud they nearly deafened us even after they blew out the venue’s entire PA.
Why bring this up now? Well, when we saw our compadré, Andy Parker, caught them in Brighton last night, he shot a live bootleg that was sufficiently amazing – and unique – that we just had share it with you.
