In addition to those sweet as you like on-stage photos of Cancer Bats’ Main Stage triumph we showed you last weekend, our man Gobinder Jhitta took a shedload of photos at this year’s Leeds Festival. We basically gave him free rein to go shoot whatever and whoever he wanted, and he didn’t let us down – pretty much every band we ranted and/or raved about in our post-Reading & Leeds Festival podcast is featured in his gallery, which you can check out after the jump.
Pettybone

There have been at least 2 bands with the name Pettybone:
1. A Scottish Rock / Metal band (Active from 2002 - Present)
2. An English Punk / Hardcore band (Active from 2010 - 2012)
1. Pettybone, a 5-piece Rock/ Metal band hailing from Greenock, Scotland, were formed in 2002. They have a vast back catalogue of demo’s and have released 3 official EP’s, “Singularity” on 12th July 2010, “Continuum” on 15th January 2011 and “Eventuality” on 5th December 2011. Read more on Last.fm

March 3rd, 2012
We’ve already brought you photos from this gig earlier this week, but now we’re bringing you the critical eye of Alex Andrews as he reviews what went down when Touché Amoré, Pettybone and Grappler brought – or tried to bring – their A-game to the Camden Barfly….

There are a lot of things that are good about Touché Amoré. One of the good things about Touché Amoré is that they force lazy music bloggers to learn the keyboard-shortcut for typing “é”. Another, perhaps more relevant, good thing about Touché Amoré, is that they are a bloody awesome live band. That’s why we had Ben Gibson go and photograph them doing just that at the Camden Barfly earlier this week, at any rate.

Pettybone are a band with a point to prove. It would be easy to focus on the fact these four punks from wildly divergent backgrounds (a Czech, a Londoner, a German and a Cornish) are women but there’s more to it than being massively patronising. This album is punk as fuck.

From: London, UK
Lazy equation: (Girls + Politics) x Hardcore x Camden
Website: Myspace.com/TheSoundOfTheRevolt
Thrash Hits verdict: Four ladies from Camden with a shared passion for hardcore and politics. They’re the kind of band that goes on tour in either Israel and Camden. We love that.
