Check out run,WALK!’s new split EP with SIRS. It’s pretty noisy.

Those cheeky Winchester scamps, run,WALK!, have a split EP out today with the similarly-grammatically disinclined SIRS. Actually, we probably wouldn’t describe run,WALK! as being that cheeky. And come to think of it, it’s probably a bit misleading to call them scamps. We couldn’t just call them “a band from Winchester though”, and their off-kilter, occasionally mathy take on rock’n’roll doesn’t eagerly lend itself to trite introductory paragraphs on snarky weblogs.

Oh shut up and go watch the damn video.

Live: run,WALK! + Bastions @ London Bull & Gate – Thursday, 23 September 2010

September 28th, 2010

Hugh Platt has been pestering everyone else who taps a keyboard in the name of Thrash Hits to check out Bastions. When we headed to Kentish Town to see them last week, we got more than we bargained for.

When bands say that they live and die by their live performance, it’s all too easy to switch off in the face of such a familiar soundbite. Within three minutes of starting though, Bastions were calling for an ambulance.
