SikTh is a six member progressive/technical metal band, originating from Watford, England. They formed in March 2001, with their music being under the scope of many music magazines such as Kerrang! and Metal Hammer and a favourite of BBC Radio 1 DJ Mary Anne Hobbs. The band were signed to independent record label Bieler Bros. Records at the time of their disbandment.

SikTh's style of music is hard to categorize and as they incorporate many different elements of technical metal, metalcore, death metal, groove metal, rock and hardcore. Read more on Last.fm

In case you haven’t noticed, WE RELAUNCHED THRASH HITS. This week on the podcast, Raz and Hugh talk through the fancy new changes that we’ve made to the site (we’re pretty proud of it FYI), as well as giving the lowdown on our team-up with Songkick Detour (help us bring American Nightmare, SikTh, and a load of other awesome bands to London!), as well as talking about the only news story that’s mattered over the last week – Tim Lambesis of As I Lay Dying being arrested and charged with attempting to hire a hitman to murder his estranged wife.

SikTh? American Nightmare? Songkick Detour can bring them to London

We saw the power of Songkick Detour back in February when, in conjunction with our big sister, DrownedinSound, Desaparecidos played their first UK show. It was impressive and it was powered by the crowd. They wanted to see Desaparecidos play live in London and they put their money where their mouths were. We want to do the same thing with some bands that we like.

Let’s see if we can get American Nightmare over to the UK. Let’s see if we can show SikTh that people want to see them live.

Remember last year when we started making noise about SikTh reuniting? And then they went and launched a merch store and an official Facebook page and then….well, nothing? It was kinda frustrating, wasn’t it?

Well, we got tired of waiting for more news on the SikTh reunion, so when we got one of the band’s former frontmen, Mikee Goodman, in front of a camera at Download Festival 2012, we just straight up asked him what on Earth was going on with regards to his former band.
