It’s just a few short weeks away now – Damnation Festival 2013 is (once again) going to be the heavy music event of the Winter here in the UK. We’re going to be heading up to Leeds University in force come 02 November, but until then, we’ve put together a Sunday Spotify Slaylist to hype us up for what’s (once again) one of the best one-dayer metal fest line-ups the UK has ever seen.
The band SSS, which stands for Short Sharp Shock, hails from Liverpool, UK and plays hardcore influenced thrash metal (also called crossover thrash). The band is currently signed to earache. They were founded in 2005 and are still active today.
The band released a six track demo in May 2005, a four track EP the next year and their debut album Short Sharp Shock soon thereafter. Their label at the time was Thrashgig / Dead & Gone Records. Their switch to Earache Records meant the album was re-issued in early 2007 with bonus tracks. Read more on Last.fm

Vice’s No Sleep Till… documentary series has so far seen bands from the USA take on the “delights” that Russia and Sweden have to offer a hard-touring punk band, but this week they’ve brought everything about the show a little bit closer to home. For part three in the series, Vice joined crossover types SSS on a road trip from their hometown of Liverpool, to the bright lights of Hard Rock Hell in North Wales, taking in some of the grimmest roadside attractions along the way…
