We’ve made no secret in the past that we’re pretty big fans of both Svalbard and Pariso, so we were more than a little intrigued when we heard that they were working on a collaborative album together. Yes, you read that right – not a split EP, but a collaborative album. And they’re letting us stream the first track/single/whatever you call the first song to be made public from it exclusively here on Thrash Hits.
There are several bands called Svalbard.
1) a metal band from Silesia, Poland
2) a martial/darkwave band from Homel, Belarus.
3) A modern melodic hardcore band wth dramatic tendencies from Bristol, UK.
1] The initial idea of this band arouse in 2004. The everchanging line-up was the main reason for the band to stay in the dark for long years. But not only are they still around, with:
Piotr (Peter) on vocals,
Clad (Dominic) on guitar,
Pająk (Peter) on bass, Read more on Last.fm

This week sees Thrash Hits scribe and all-round Ronnie Radke fanboy, Gavin Lloyd, joins Hugh to talk up the week’s best new releases and the tours taking place over the next seven days. Only…err…there aren’t many decent releases this week so they jus stuck to waxing lyrical about gigs, tours and shows.

Thrash Hits verdict: We love a bit of progressive UK hardcore, so the thoughtful but forceful racket knocked up by Bristol’s Svalbard was just the ticket for our Future Hits column. Lead guitarist/vocalist Serena Cherry answered most of our questions, but left it to guitarist/vocalist Liam Phelan to add the cheesy jokes at the end.
