Tesla is an American hard rock band originating from Sacramento, California. The band formed in 1984 as City Kidd and was renamed to Tesla during the recording of their first album on the advice of their manager. According to the Love Song Songfacts, their name (and the inspiration for some songs) comes from Nikola Tesla, the legendary scientist and inventor who quite possibly is single-handedly responsible for the "mad scientist" trope. HRH AOR + Prog 2013 Thrash Hits

We can’t get enough of festivals here in the UK. Summer festivals, Winter festivals, and – right now at least – Spring festivals. Earlier this month, Hard Rock Hell hosted the very first Hard Rock Hell AOR and Hard Rock Hell Prog, and we were naturally on hand to photograph the whole shebang.

Topping the list of additions is Trent Reznor’s chief object of scorn, Chris Cornell, Southern metal uber-group Down, and yet another classic rock act to join those already on the line-up – San Francisco’s Journey.
