Due to the fact Raz and Hugh run things at Thrash Hits, their opinions are the most important. Yes there’s an overall TH Top 20 Albums of 2013 and there’s a list of the individual contributors’ favourite albums, but their opinions are also the most correct. That’s why they’ve got their own post where they can explain their own favourite albums of 2013 without being sullied by democracy.
The Bronx are a band from Los Angeles, California who began playing punk rock in 2002. Their original goal was to bring passionate, blood-and-sweat punk rock into the 21st Century. Their first self-titled album was released in 2003 on White Drugs. For their second self-title the band signed with Island Records and went on to play music with a hard rock influence that still retained their original punk stylings. The Bronx has since returned to punk rock, yet uniquely with a dual mariachi persona, as is planned for their upcoming double release. Read more on Last.fm

With the August Bank Holiday weekend rapidly approaching, Reading & Leeds Festivals are once again upon us. As with every year, Reading & Leeds have a bit fat dollop of heaviness in among the landfill indie, so for this week’s Sunday Slaylist we’ve put together a Spotify playlist of the hardest and heaviest from their 2013 line-ups.

This afternoon we would like you to ask yourself just one question – what could you possibly be doing that is so important that you can’t take ten minutes out of your life to watch Vice’s film of The Bronx sweating themselves silly in a Swedish sauna, throwing caution to the wind and frolicking in the freezing Baltic, and then playing some music for some rabidly enthusiastic Scandinavians?
Answer: Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

When the amazing hardcore extravaganza, Shred Yr Face II tour hit the penultimate date at the Brighton Concorde, Andy Parker was there for Thrash Hits with his camera and notepad. He had quite a good time.
Tonight I am exhausted. Never have I felt so run ragged by an act, so to be kept on my toes by two of the US’s finest exports is a pleasure.
The Shred Yr Face II Tour finds its way to the windswept coastline stopping for chips and dohnuts at Concorde2, Brighton.

The Bronx stick an extra couple of Xs on the end of their name most times. I reckon they’re kisses because you just can’t help loving this band.
This is the third self-titled album and it explodes with riff-rolling lead single, ‘Knifeman’. It seems like Matt Caughthran still has the angry bug, reeling off diatribes about the apathetic lives that litter our youth. It’s fair.
