Queen Brian May Adam Lambert Thrash Hits

Sonisphere Festival have confirmed Queen (with Adam Lambert), Faith No More, and KISS as the headliners for the UK leg of their European festival franchise. In addition to these three main stage headliners, Sonisphere have confirmed an additional twenty other acts for their 2012 UK incarnation, bringing the total of bands announced for Knebworth this summer up to 23.

The Darkness: They came. They conquered. They split up. They returned. They pwned Donington. Plus, Justin Hawkins clearly stole our “Give us a ‘D’; Give us an ‘ownload'” to open up their set. The fact that The Darkness had pyro in daylight hours only made us wonder how his moustache escaped going up in flames.

So, you know The Darkness reformed and that they’re playing at Download Festival 2011 and that this is bloody exciting. What would be the best Darkness reunion-related thing ever? Seeing their hometown comeback show with 500 other people. Yep. Thrash Hits went to Norwich and saw one of the biggest British rock bands of the past decade strut their stuff in East Anglia. Guess how amazing it was.

Sometimes people like to whisper in our ears and sometimes we are just better at the internet than other people. This all leads to us hearing about stuff way before we’re meant to. That’s how we got the scoops on Metallica and Linkin Park headlining Sonisphere Festival 2009 as well as when AC/DC self-confirmed Download Festival 2010.

This time, a little whisper found its way into our stupid heads about Def Leppard and The Darkness co-headlining Download Festival 2011. There’s a tiny little more to it than just a silly rumour though. It just depends on how hard you look…
