Thrash Hits verdict: When it comes to bands like The Woken Trees, we’re willing to stretch the boundaries of the Thrash Hits remit as far as they will go. Sure, the Danish six-piece aren’t as “traditionally” heavy as most of the bands we cover here on the site, but there’s more internal darkness in the three songs you’ll hear over the course of our interview than you’ll hear on half the boring black metal coming out of Scandinavia in 2013.

The Woken Trees was formed in 2010. The band members, however, have known each other since their early teens as they all grew up together in a community around the desolate village, Tversted, in the north of Denmark. Read more on Last.fm
