Throats formed in London, UK in 2007 and split the 7th of December 2010. They reformed the 08th of August 2014.

Throats are not simply a hardcore band anymore. Bile, rage and despondency have organically mutated an already bitter and angry band into something far more extreme, reckless and dangerous. Throats have now evolved into a monster that, whilst nodding to their own past, now encompass a sound that embraces elements of Napalm Death, Rotten Sound, crust and d-beat into their stoned, cosmic riffs and breakdowns. Throats were one of those bands that burned hard and burned fast. In the three of so years of the band’s lifespan, everyone kinda took them for granted. The band had shrugged off the “hipster grind” tag that their less-imaginative critics loved to throw at them, and had started to become a real force all of their own, when in and then in December 2010 they announced in December 2010 that they were splitting up. Which sucked.

We were extremely peeved when we heard the news last year that Throats were calling it a day. Well, thankfully they quickly announced they were playing one final gig, which went down last night at the Purple Turtle in Camden. And even better, Anthony Sykes over at Videos From Shows was on hand to document it all on a handheld HD camcorder.
