Just when you thought it was safe to go back to your local venue without a hundred scene kids set on beating the living hell out of you, or a frontman lobbing a bin at you, Trash Talk are back. There are very few that would argue against Trash Talk being a live band first and foremost, so does this mean No Peace provides anything for us to get excited about, other than as an excuse for Trash Talk to go out on the road and play those shows?

Vice UK Is Ten Thrash Hts

This month Vice UK – our local installation of the global neo-media behemoth – is celebrating ten whole years of being in operation. And to celebrate, they are throwing a humdinger of a party here in London, which among other things will feature live set from Trash Talk and our (very occasional) columnist, Mr Andrew W.K. Yeah, you want to get your hands on some tickets for this one.

Mastodon at Leeds Festival 2012 by Gobinder Jhitta Thrash Hits

In addition to those sweet as you like on-stage photos of Cancer Bats’ Main Stage triumph we showed you last weekend, our man Gobinder Jhitta took a shedload of photos at this year’s Leeds Festival. We basically gave him free rein to go shoot whatever and whoever he wanted, and he didn’t let us down – pretty much every band we ranted and/or raved about in our post-Reading & Leeds Festival podcast is featured in his gallery, which you can check out after the jump.

The Thrash Hits Podcast 013: Summer? GTFO

September 6th, 2012

Thrash Hits Podcast 1

With Reading and Leeds Festivals over and done with, the UK summer festival season is officially over. Well, it’s over as far as we’re concerned. This week, Raz and Hugh look back on their highlughts and lowlights from Reading and Leeds respectively, as well as taking a look at this week’s top news stories: the new album announcement from Deftones, and Sylosis bunking off from a European tour with Devin Townsend and Fear Factory to go gallivanting around the USA supporting Lamb of God.

Vice’s ‘No Sleep Till…’ series comes to a close with Trash Talk risking life and limb on frozen roads and skateboarding. Obviously.

March 22nd, 2012

Vice’s No Sleep Till… documentary series comes to an end today, with the final instalment focussing on one of California’s finest international punk exports of the last five years: Trash Talk. Vice follow the band as they support Every Time I Die on their last UK tour, which obvious means a) carnage, and b) destruction, and c) skateboarding.

every time i die promo photo 2011 thrash hits no josh

Every Time I Die are one of my favourite bands in the world. They encapsulate everything that is good about heavy music. Riffs, melody, excellent merch. I wouldn’t own six ETID tshirts otherwise.

Especially when I nipped out for a cigarette and had to bustle my way past half a dozen handbags (after they’d hit me in the belly, of course) and then the very ample smoking area was full. What was this madness? So many women. So much cancer. Every Time I Die!

Six things we found out when we saw ETID in Camden:

Feed The Rhino Hevy Saturday Thrash Hits

Well, by the second day of Hevy Festival 2011, both Tomas Doyle (words) or Ben Gibson (photos) were still standing, despite pre-festival promises to mosh till they dropped and/or died.
