There are at least 4 artists of that name which are not to be confused with the Faroese metal band Týr:

1) Tyr is a prog metal band from Spain, formed in 1994 in Málaga. They released their debut record "Tyr" in 2001 and another full-length album called "Hipokrisia" in 2006. Since then they have been signed up with Mox Records.
