Vesania is a Polish Symphonic Black Metal/blackened death metal band featuring Orion (Behemoth) and Daray (ex-Vader, Dimmu Borgir). The word "Vesania" is from Latin, referring to everything that is connected with madness, insanity, dementia and mental disease.

The band was formed in Legionowo, Poland in 1997. Their first album "Moonastray" was a split with Black Altar and was released in 2002 by Odium Records exclusively in Poland, the release was limited to 666 copies and each album was signed with blood. Read more on Last.fm

It’s probably enshrined in ancient charter that all Polish metal bands must have at least one member who at some point has contributed to one of Behemoth, Vader or Decapitated. Sure enough, of Vesania’s three founder members, frontman Orion plays bass with Behemoth, bassist Heinrich has played with Decapitated, and drummer Daray has played with Vader (and just about everyone else). It sort of makes them a supergroup in reverse. It also probably accounts for why it’s been seven years between albums.
