This week, the magnificent Temples Festival sold out of weekend tickets. For a new festival to do this in their opening year is pretty damn impressive, and speaks volumes for just how strong Temples Festival’s line-up curation has been. It also makes for a goddamn murderously good Sunday Slaylist.

War Wolf on Thrash Hits
January 3rd, 2013
Thrash Hits verdict: When we heard late last year that Dopefight were calling it a day, we were super bummed out. They were one of our earlier Future Hits, and could dependably be found turning up on the bill of all manner of killer sludge and doom all-dayers that we’ve indulged in over the last few years. However, it wasn’t long before two of Dopefight resurfaced in War Wolf. Gone are the longer, extended blues jams and outright Sabbath worship, and in their place is a leaner, punkier, sub-3 minute approach to ever-so-crisp-at-the-crust doomy metal. With their debut album’s physical release on the horizon, we dropped the guys a line to talk about their transition from their former band into the beast that is War Wolf.
