Well, it’s been rumoured for years and bloody years, but it looks as though 2010 is finally the year that it’s going to happen – AC/DC have gone and self-confirmed that they’re returning to Donington next year to headline a night at Download Festival 2010.
Sometimes at Christmas, you’ll be forced into a situation where it’s simply not possible to crank out your favourite death metal album at full volume. Maybe your dear, frail old granny has come over for Christmas dinner, and her weak heart simply can’t handle Anaal Nathrakh. What you need for situations like this is heavy metal disguised as Christmas music.
The Proud Galleries in Camden, London are going to be hosting an exhibition celebrating AC/DC’s latest – and probably last ever – world tour.
Taking place between 05 February 2009 and 31 May 2009, the exhibition will look at the band in their youth, in the days before the success, through the lens of Australian rock photographer Philip Morris. That’s one of his, up there.
This will definitely be the first time these images will be seen in the UK and some of the late, great Bon Scott might have never seen daylight anywhere, ever.
It is probably going to be really good.

There was a Nirvana exhibition at Proud Galleries in Charing Cross once and it was so good one man bought the book, Winterlong, twice. It wasn’t us. Honest.
Did you know that AC/DC classic album Back In Black has sold 42 million copies? Well it has.

How much idle conjecture has there been over Chinese Democracy? Axl Rose has had 17 years to turn this vanity project into absolute gold. It has to be a masterpiece. It has to be the best album of the 21st century.
I say “vanity project” because Rose is the only founding member remaining in Guns N’ Roses. I say “vanity project” because he has taken 17 bloody years to write one album!
Airbourne are a bit good. The Aussies are releasing a tour edition of their awesome new album, Runnin’ Wild on 3 November 2008 with has a DVD with all their videos plus eight tracks from Wacken Festival 2008. None more metal.
They’re touring the UK in November and have made a video of their new single, ‘Diamond In The Rough’. Not too shabby.

Oh yes. AC/DC are touring the UK with their Black Ice World Tour in April 2009. The new album, Black Ice is released on 20 October 2008. Most of the song titles have the word ‘black’, ‘rock’ and/or ‘roll’ in them. What a band. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 17 October 2008.
