TRC, Feed The Rhino, Palm Reader and The Hell head up tasty Christmas 2013 gig

October 2nd, 2013

Yes, the one-off London Christmas gigs are being foisted upon us already. The first one through the gates is the SGR Artist Management Christmas Feast on 19 December 2013 at The Borderline and isn’t the flyer a mighty fine piece of work?

From the ridiculous to the downright self-effacing in its descriptions, it’s a flyer as rich and enticing as any Toby carvery and with The Hell, Palm Reader, Feed The Rhino, TRC and the eponymous Gallows bassist in town, The Crobar is going to be one hell of a beautiful mess that evening.

Buy tickets here and then come hang in the Crobar with us after. Messy Christmas?

This Is Hell live at the London Borderline c/o Ben Gibson Thrash Hits

We once joked that one of our photographers, Ben Gibson, took an exorbitant number of shots of band members’ crotches and/or band members engaging in mid-air splits. We only meant it as a bit of light-hearted ribbing, but our boy Ben seems to have taken it to heart, and now sees it as a mark of honour to get as many in-air shots as possible into the photo sets he sends us.

Though possibly a band like This Is Hell almost makes it too easy for him.

With details released to mailing list members before anyone else, it’s not a push to suggest that this 200ish-capacity venue was rammed full of the hardest core of Enter Shikari fans.

Tonight is, of course, all about the fans. By showcasing a selection of new songs from forthcoming second album, Common Dreads, the Hertfordshire hardcore-dance crossover merchants are ensuring that they remain as close to the hearts of their fans as they ever have been.

Were you lucky enough to catch The Ghost Of A Thousand on their Thrash Hits-sponsored UK tour last month? If you were, you’ll have heard them play a couple of tracks off their eagerly-awaited, and as-yet-untitled second album, due out later this year.

Which is why Thrash Hits Editor, Raziq Rauf, cornered frontman Tom Lacey backstage before the band tore the guts out of the London Borderline. We wanted to find out just what the Brighton five-piece have been getting up to in a Swedish recording studio.

Trivium add tiny Christmas shows in Dundee and London

Mighty metallers Trivium have announced two more shows to accompany their Irish headlining shows in December at Dundee Fat Sams on 02 December 2008 and London Borderling on 09 December 2008.

The Floridian quartet will have been on tour with Slayer, Mastodon and Amon Amarth on The Unholy Alliance by the time these shows roll around and they are going to have an end-of-tour blowout in London.

The London Borderline holds just 275 people so it’s going to be a little bit special. There will be no support band and tickets will go on sale at 12pm 12 November 2008 to Trivium World fan club members and, if there are any left, they will go on sale the following day.

A handful of competition winners will join some VIP guest for a Christmas After Show Party featuring METAL KARAOKE! This sounds radical enough already without the fact that Trivium will be the house band.

Trivium December tourdates
02 Dundee Fat Sams
04 Derry Nerve Centre
05 Belfast Mandela Hall
06 Dublin Ambassador
07 Cork Savoy Theatre
09 London Borderline
