Whether or not you’re hoisting a beer in recognition of the extra Bank Holiday this has given us, or whether you’re sulkily avoiding anywhere and everywhere that’s smothered itself in celebratory bunting, you can’t avoid it. Dyscarnate are a death metal band. Saying that feels slightly strange – every other new band who incorporate “death metal” into their genre name seem to want it prefixed by “brutal symphonic progressive technical ambient blackened”, and definitely don’t want you to call them “deathcore” no matter how many hardcore breakdowns they have. It’s something of a relief to find something as straight-up death metal as this. It’s also part of the reason their debut record Enduring The Massacre is so good, and why this is a band to be genuinely excited about.

Try saying that headline three times very fast. Anyway, Iron Maiden have announced today that they’re to release a feature-length documentary chronicling the first leg of last year’s Somewhere Back In Time World Tour, to be released under the title of ‘Iron Maiden: Flight 666’.
