Hevy 2013 cancelled Thrash Hits

This weekend would’ve been the fifth Hevy Festival…but as you no doubt know by now, the festival was forced to cancel their event this year. They tried to schedule a replacement all-dayer at the Brixton Academy here in London, featuring some of the biggest bands on this year’s (cancelled) bill…but as you also know by now, they had to cancel that too.

It’s not been the best year for Hevy Festival, truth be told.

You’ve read the title? Right. That’s the gist of the story. Black Sabbath will no longer be performing any of their previously announced European tour dates, with the exception of Download Festival 2012. In place of the majority of the cancelled shows, an ‘Ozzy & Friends’ gathering (including Geezer Butler, Zakk Wylde, Slash, and other, as-yet-unnanounced special guests) will fill in Black Sabbath’s place.
