Ten years in and five albums deep, Evergreen Terrace have continued their blistering combination of melodic hardcore and metal on their latest album, Almost Home. After a disappointing show on Wolfbiker, their last studio effort, which seriously lacked the more melodic aspects of their sound, Evergreen Terrace have gone all out to wipe the slate clean.

When SOiL burst onto the world metal scene in 2001, their huge single ‘Halo’ become something of an anthem that pretty much every metal head on the planet knows word for word. Since then, things have become pretty stagnant for the Illinois four-piece, with albums flopping, vocalist Ryan McCombs leaving to join Drowning Pool, and the recruitment of his replacement, AJ Cavalier.

Hailing from the same part of the UK as Gallows and Enter Shikari, None The Less have offered up a mini-album of post-hardcore which is likely to have The Blackout shaking in their boots. You’re left to wonder exactly what it is they’re putting in the water in Hertfordshire to keep churning out talented bands.
