Reading & Leeds Festival 2013 Thrash Hits

With the August Bank Holiday weekend rapidly approaching, Reading & Leeds Festivals are once again upon us. Mastodon at Leeds Festival 2012 by Gobinder Jhitta Thrash Hits

In addition to those sweet as you like on-stage photos of Cancer Bats’ Main Stage triumph we showed you last weekend, our man Gobinder Jhitta took a shedload of photos at this year’s Leeds Festival. We basically gave him free rein to go shoot whatever and whoever he wanted, and he didn’t let us down – pretty much every band we ranted and/or raved about in our post-Reading & Leeds Festival podcast is featured in his gallery, which you can check out after the jump.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, the first Download Festival announcement following the cancellation of their chief 2012 rival has at least one major coup picked from Sonisphere’s carcass – Refused are now going to be making their only UK festival appearance of 2012 at Download Festival. Don Broco at Hevy 2011 by Ben Gibson Thrash Hits

While only in it’s third year, Hevy Music Festival has already established itself as the leading outdoor festival in the UK when it comes to hardcore. It’s time for The Great Escape 2011 so we’re off to Brighton for a few days to drink beer and get a dry face and fuzzy ears from watching bands while standing near to a large, salty body of water.

Because TGE is a big thing, there’s not very much metal going on so we thought we’d point out the token gigs of heaviness for you and list all the bands that we think are noteworthy PLUS when and where they’re playing.
