Our analysis of the real (i.e., financial) reasons for the Black Sabbath/Bill Ward split is another article you can file in the Thrash Hits no-one-else-could-publish-this folder. Most websites don’t have the stones to analyse anything deeper than 200 words, and no music magazine was going to seriously tackle this topic – after all, why sacrifice their chances of securing a coveted Black Sabbath cover feature just for the sake of some trouble-making?

Thrash Hits TV: Mikee Goodman talks about the SikTh reunion….
July 16th, 2012
Remember last year when we started making noise about SikTh reuniting? And then they went and launched a merch store and an official Facebook page and then….well, nothing? It was kinda frustrating, wasn’t it?
Well, we got tired of waiting for more news on the SikTh reunion, so when we got one of the band’s former frontmen, Mikee Goodman, in front of a camera at Download Festival 2012, we just straight up asked him what on Earth was going on with regards to his former band.
PROGTOLOGY with James Monteith of TesseracT: #7 – Download Festival 2012
July 12th, 2012
Okay, so this isn’t strictly a new column from James, but we did catch up with Mr Monteith backstage at this year’s Download Festival, where we cajoled him in front of our camera to talk about what really happened with regards to Elliot Coleman, to reminisce about that time he was sick all over Raz’s shoes, and to speculate on how much we’d have to pay him to get him to repeat his journo-vomiting technique over our contributor Tom Dare’s hair.

The Thrash Hits Podcast 002: Download Festival 2012 Reviewed
June 15th, 2012
Yep, it’s back – it’s time for episode 002 of the Thrash Hits podcast. We would’ve had it up yesterday, but iTunes was breaking our balls. This week Thrash Hits’ editors, Raziq Rauf and Hugh Platt, review the Download Festival 2012 line-up, discuss which bands fluffed it on the main stage, and sees Raz keep interrupting Hugh’s moaning with his bad James Hetfield impression.

Download Festival 2012: We Are The Ocean @ Zippo Encore – Sunday, 10 June 2012
June 12th, 2012
We Are The Ocean split with their scream-ier vocalist, Dan Brown, on the eve of this year’s Download Festival. We’re not 100% convinced that the Dan-less WATO will be able to carry the band’s older material quite so well with just Liam Cromby on vocals, but Download Festival was as good a place as any for them to start finding out if they can. Download Festival 2012: August Burns Red @ Zippo Encore – Sunday, 10 June 2012
June 12th, 2012
We almost lost Ben Gibson’s photos of August Burns Red playing on the Second stage at Download Festival 2012 down the back of the sofa (well, whatever the digital equivalent of that is). But hey! we found them again, and here they are in all their glory. [Read more →]
Download Festival 2012: Dropkick Murphys @ Zippo Encore – Sunday, 10 June 2012
June 12th, 2012
The Dropkick Murphys are like St Patrick’s Day, insofar that for 364 days of the year, everyone gets on with business as usual, but on the one day they turn up, every man, woman, and dog suddenly starts claiming to be Irish. The part-time Irish were out in force watching them at Download Festival 2012. [Read more →]
Download Festival 2012: Emmure @ Pepsi Max Stage – Sunday, 10 June 2012
June 12th, 2012
We can’t guarantee that the above photo is the exact moment where Frankie Palmeri of Emmure told a packed (and boy, it was packed) Pepsi Max stage that he wanted to watch them suck someone’s dick, but hey, it was close enough. [Read more →]
Download Festival 2012: Megadeth @ Main Stage – Sunday, 10 June 2012
June 11th, 2012
Now while some of the things that come out of MegaDave’s mouth these days when he’s not onstage might be somewhat….questionable (we think that’s the diplomatic term of choice these days, right?), there’s no denying that the sounds that come out of his (and Chris Broderick’s) guitar onstage are anything but.
