2013 thrash hits biggest surprise of the year

One of the best things about music is its unpredictability. Sometimes, those moments can cause true horror but the best moments are just ace. That’s why we spend so much time caring so much – for those moments. It’s worth the risk. Most of the time. Here are all of the Thrash Hits contributors’ biggest surprises of 2013. They’re mainly bad, actually, but whatever…

Editor’s Note: our man Tomas Doyle went and wrote this review back when Doyle Airence were known just as plain old Doyle. About a day after he handed it in, Doyle, the former Misfits guitarist, threatened to sue them unless they changed their name. Hence: Doyle Airence. Cue: a perfectly good joke ruined. Thrash Hits Podcast 1

This week’s podcast has Tom Doyle joinging Hugh back in the Thrash Hits studio, and this week they’re taking a long hard look at the line-up for Hevy Festival 2012. Thrash Hits Podcast 1

Raz is once again absent (his jetsetter lifestyle means he’s off in Berlin to catch Pearl Jam), so this week Hugh is once again joined by Tom Dare, and this week by another Tom from the Thrash Hits writers roster – Tom Doyle. Yes, he’s the Tom Doyle that Lower In Atlantis threatened at headbutt that time. No, he’s not the Tom Doyle who’s a member of Don Broco.

This week’s topics of conversation include recent gigs by Evile, Decapitated and *shels, but mostly we just talk about the Randy Blythe/manslaughter situation that has gotten most of the metal internet up in arms one way or the other over the last 7 days.
