Thrash Hits verdict: This Irish quartet isn’t exactly new but they’re on the verge of doing something. Progressive metal or Djent or whatever you want to call it has become exceptionally popular over the last five years and Shattered Skies have a curiously melodic take on the genre. Dublin-based Wounds have whipped up a bit of a media storm of late. Currently being touted by some magazine fuckwits as ‘art-hardcore’ – presumably a combination of art house and hardcore punk (oh how do you do it!? I wish I could be as imaginative as you) – I prefer to think of them as exactly what they are – a bloody raging post-punk outfit reminiscent of Scratch Acid, Big Black and Drive Like Jehu, with a bit of the good bits from The Horrors chucked in for good measure.

Faith No More re-confirm Reading and Leeds Festival 2009 appearances via… tshirt

We all know that Download Festival 2009 headliners, Faith No More self-confirmed Reading and Leeds Festival appearances on their website in April and then took them down immediately.

Last night, FNM were selling tour tshirts for their The Seconds Coming Tour at their Brixton Academy reunion show with those dates and more unconfirmed dates in Scotland and Ireland on. Re-confirmed!
