In the years between Eyehategod’s last release in 2000 and their new self-titled album, we’ve seen the rise and fall of nu metal, two new US Presidents, three new Prime Ministers, Gangnam Style, Harlem Shake and a Partridge film in a pear tree…

And Eyehategod still sound like Eyehategod, and it’s brilliant.

Sunday Slaylist: Hevy Festival 2013 – what might’ve been…

August 4th, 2013

Hevy 2013 cancelled Thrash Hits

This weekend would’ve been the fifth Hevy Festival…but as you no doubt know by now, the festival was forced to cancel their event this year. They tried to schedule a replacement all-dayer at the Brixton Academy here in London, featuring some of the biggest bands on this year’s (cancelled) bill…but as you also know by now, they had to cancel that too.

While there, Williams went through the joys of heroin withdrawal.

Yeah, he’s not had it good.

Interview: Brutal Truth – “Hurricane Katrina brought us back together”

January 25th, 2007

It took a force of nature to bring seminal US deathgrind outfit Brutal Truth back together – but Hurricane Katrina couldn’t match their destructive force. We cornered bassist and Anthrax co-founder, Dan Lilker, to get the whole story.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This interview was originally published on MusicTowers.com. It is re-printed here with their full permission.

“It was actually a direct result of Hurricane Katrina.” As far as reasons to reform bands go, it’s certainly different from the usual excuses – a desperate attempt to snatch back the limelight, or large bags of cash offered by nostalgic promoters to clear post-success debts. For Dan Lilker, Brutal Truth bassist, the reasons were certainly a lot more altruistic than most.
