We can’t get enough of festivals here in the UK. Summer festivals, Winter festivals, and – right now at least – Spring festivals. Earlier this month, Hard Rock Hell hosted the very first Hard Rock Hell AOR and Hard Rock Hell Prog, and we were naturally on hand to photograph the whole shebang.

Well, Hard Rock Hell VI is selling out fast, but you can still get in for free if you enter our competition. Once again, Hard Rock Hell have given us a whole bunch of passes to give away, so that you and five of your mates to come down to one of the best Winter rock and metal festivals on the planet…that just happens to be in North Wales.

Vice’s No Sleep Till… documentary series has so far seen bands from the USA take on the “delights” that Russia and Sweden have to offer a hard-touring punk band, but this week they’ve brought everything about the show a little bit closer to home. For part three in the series, Vice joined crossover types SSS on a road trip from their hometown of Liverpool, to the bright lights of Hard Rock Hell in North Wales, taking in some of the grimmest roadside attractions along the way…

Last week we advised you that you could buy tickets for the Hard Rock Hell Road Trip with a 10% discount, and our shameless shilling hasn’t gone unnoticed – the guys over at Hard Rock Hell have given us a set of three tickets to this year’s event to give away to one lucky reader – as well as three nights accommodation for when you’re out there in Ibiza.

We know that technically metal fans tend to be a frosty bunch – what with all the trve kvlt grim metal from the frozen Scandinavian wastes stuffing out our record collections and all that – but it doesn’t have to be this way. That’s what the folks over at Hard Rock Hell thought when they concocted their Ibiza-based Hard Rock Hell – The Road Trip festival a few years back. Now in it’s third incarnation, the festival has just announced another clutch of bands and is offering you a chance to nab an extra 10% off your tickets if you buy now. Not too shabby, eh?

Times are tough. The economy is up the spout, your next payday is weeks away, and those blissful who-cares-about-next-week feelings that Summer festival season bring are even further away in the distance. Thankfully, Hammerfest IV is set to strike in March to alleviate that Spring slump, and what’s more, if you enter our competition to win a set of FOUR weekend passes to the event, you might be able to bust down to Prestatyn without even having to pay an entry fee.

Hard Rock Hell is back for a third outing in Pontins, Prestatyn Sands in Wales on 04-06 December and because it’s sold out, we’ve got five pairs of tickets to give away. FIVE PAIRS! FIVE! You could be watching heavy metal in a Pontins for FREE. Not bad.

The three day metal-fuelled alestorm or ale-fuelled maelstrom, depending on which way you look at it, known as Hard Rock Hell has all but sold out but we’ve got an amazing prize to give away.
Forget cabin fever. You’re going to get chalet fever. It takes it to a whole new level of heavy metal holidaying.
You could win a Gold Chalet for yourself and five friends by entering this competition. In each chalet here are two double rooms and a double sofabed in the living area. All six people get a full weekend pass and a welcome pack as well. Not bad.
Taking place on 5-7 December 2008 at Pontin’s, Prestatyn Sands in North Wales, this is one event you’ll be talking about for a while to come. Take a look at the full lineup for Hard Rock Hell II
For the chance to win a Gold Chalet for six people at Hard Rock Hell II, just enter this competition by answering the following question.
Which one of these elements is most closely associated with hell?
The closing date for general entries is 11am Friday, 21 November 2008. The winners will be notified by telephone and/or email.

The lineup for the second annual Hard Rock Hell, niftily sub-titled “The Dragon’s Ball”, has been finalised and it has shaped up magnificently.
The 48-hour maelstrom of rock and metal at the UK’s will take place on 5-7 December 2008 at the only rock ‘n’ roll bootcamp, located at Pontin’s, Prestatyn Sands in North Wales.
There are few things more fun that hard rocking whilst hard boozing in a Pontin’s – especially when you don’t need to worry about your parents finding out. We know this from last year’s inaugural and hugely successful HRH.
While we have the mighty Black Label Society and Thin Lizzy headlining the Classic Rock Stage, there are some very exciting developments on the Radio 1/Metal Hammer Stage as the Radio 1 Rock Show’s Daniel P Carter curates.
Carter is going to showcase some Thrash Hits .com favourites from the emerging rock scene including sets from Canadian rising stars Cancer Bats as well as Brighton heavyweights Johnny Truant and the mighty The Ghost Of A Thousand.
Tickets, including entry to the festival, accommodation and car parking, start from as little as £90 if you are prepared to share (destroy) a chalet with six other headbanging buddies. Find out more at HardRockHell.com.
