Thrash Hits verdict: The crafty folk at In At The Deep End Records blackmailed us into listening to all nine minutes of History Of The Hawk’s OCEAN EP in 2011 but they don’t need to keep blackmailing us. IATDE know what they’re doing and they know who they’re signing. Any fans the absolutely fucking amazing Bastions album will enjoy HOTH. Melding 90s DC hardcore with 90s UK hardcore is hardly anything new but not all bands manage to make it sound as vibrant and energetic as these guys. Similar to Bastions and Hospital Corners, that OCEAN EP has a slightly medical meaning. It’s an acronym: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism – the five big personality indicators when diagnosing a patient in modern psychology. We had a chat to History Of The Hawk singer, Nathan Coyle about what’s what. You should read this and then listen to their music. You will not regret it.
