Gojira have such a pedigree that they’ve had a superlative created especially for them. In some circles, exceptional events are described as “Gojiramazing” (Google it if you want). The phrase stems from the French quartet’s ability to always perform to a jaw-dropping standard, whether that be live or on record.

Retrospective Review: The Devin Townsend Project – Deconstruction

December 11th, 2011

When we asked our contributors to tell us their albums of the year, we also offered them the opportunity to retrospectively review any of their Top 10 list that we hadn’t reviewed already. Ruth Booth took us up on that offer.

What’s up my metal people! September was a rather slow month when it comes to shows in Atlanta, but there were two great ones. The first day of the month, DOWN rolled into town with a killer lineup of bands, which included Evil Army, Weedeater, and The Melvins. All the opening acts were awesome, but everyone was there to see one band and one band only – DOWN.
