Those of you following us on Twitter will have heard us mention earlier this week that we’d just heard a festival headliner “rumour” so mental it has blown my mind. GOBSMACKED…well, it seems The Daily Star have gone and blown all our secrets out of the water – today they confirmed that this year’s Sonisphere Festival headliners in the UK will be Faith no More and Queen….fronted by Adam Lambert.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Iron Maiden and Rammstein to headline Sonisphere Festival 2010

So, following Iron Maiden’s all-but-announced confirmation that they’re headlining at Sonisphere 2010, we thought we’d just let slip we’ve heard from a Very Reliable Source that Rammstein will be the other headliner at Knebworth next summer. Considering both names have been touted for months, it’s hardly a big scoop, but what is interesting are some of the other names and nuggets of gossip our sources have given us.

Clutch self-confirm Download Festival appearance?

Well, this is a turn-up for the books – the kings of balls-out party-blues, Clutch, have self-confirmed an appearance on the Sunday of this year’s Download Festival via their MySpace page, . Why is this a surprise? Because we’d heard hints from the heavy metal rumour mill that the band were a shoe-in for the new boy on the block – and Download’s biggest rival – Sonisphere Festival.
